Canberra – city of politics and memorials

I guess the politics and war memorials go hand in hand. It’s a sad reality. I walked down from the war memorial to the parliament house. Only had a very limited amount of time in Canberra and tried to see as much as I could.

I’ve been to Canberra many times before. It’s not the most exciting town in Australia, but it is the capital city and they do have some important buildings. Like the parliament house, for example.

I heard somewhere that it was one of the most expensive buildings ever built. Cost something like $1.6Billion. I’m guessing they spent a few million just on that flagpole.
